We've had some downright awesome fishing here this past week and the weather has been nothing short of spectacular here in Craig, Alaska. Here's a few pics from the past week of shenanigans
Craig Kvam and his wife Sally have been here many, many times. Here's Craig with another perfect Chinook
Capt. Troy Thain about to net a fish for Jim Lucas from Gunnison, Colorado. We had a great time with the Lucas family and hope to see them back again next year.
Margene Smaaladen with her first king salmon. Happy, Happy!
It's remarkable how many silvers there are already this year. We generally don't see many silvers until around June 10-ish. We've already had a few limits and a some chunky ones including this 17 pounder caught by Joe Williams from Vacaville, CA. He caught it with Capt. Rafael.
Going, going, gone! This king burned off 460 feet of line on it's first run. Fun stuff!
Jeff "Buckethead" Bailey with a nice 44.5" halibut that weighed 41 pounds. The fish was just under the 45" slot limit. Ol' Buckethead was a happy camper!
With flat calm seas a couple days ago we blazed to some pinnacles well offshore and found a ton of ling cod, yelloweye, halibut, and sea bastages. Here's a hitchhiker that came up from 300 feet on a big sea bastage. We took limits of nice keeper lings and released many more up to the 50" mark.
Team "Slice and Dice" (Tim, Katie, and Maggie) with some nice king salmon from a days catch. We're super lucky to have Tim and his gang processing our fish every day. They do a GREAT job!
Don't forget Shannon...she's part of the "Slice and Dice" team also
The wife and kiddo show up on the island this afternoon...very much looking forward to seeing my family again. Until next time good fishing to you!
