MCB, Monday the 6th

Postby t_dub » Mon Aug 06, 2012 8:26 pm

gave Poss Bar a quick drive by on the way up with only a just under BM to show. headed up to MCB for the tide change and outgoing. more dogfish there this time. no scent on anything and still ended up hooking four of them dang things. fishing definitely wasn't hot, but we managed to scrape out a 12# & 18#'er over the course of a couple hours. average fish are definitely bigger than a couple weeks ago.

interesting side note and maybe Nelly, you might have an answer. both fish had a bunch of tapeworms in them, as did a number of others so far this year. what gives? don't remember previous years with near this amount of tape wormy fish.

Hey T Dub,
We saw you today out at the bank and I've also seen what you've described.
As long as the worms are only in the body cavity or intestines they are not an issue.
I don't know if there are more worms than last year but I'm sure there are more chinook!!!

Ive noticed the same thing. Tons of worms. Fishing up that way has been pretty damn good the last 3-4 days and the size of them has totally gone up. We had a double header to limit us out yesterday. Thats always fun. Tdub i thought that was you yesterday. I shoulda rolled over and said hey. I was to busy reeling up a$$ backwards dogfish.

green hewescraft, black top, Honda motors hanging off an extended transom, general look of bewilderment, yep, that's me. nice to hear you got limits. we rolled out after we each had one, around 1130. did it pick up after that?

about 1230 is when it starting kickin for me. We couldnt keep em on in the morning. They day before it was really really good. I suck at catching big fish though. Lots of 10-12 pound fish out there for me. Cant complain though. This is by far the best season i have had.
