MA7 Chinook Roche Harbor Derby

Postby shamahawk » Sat Feb 11, 2012 8:11 pm

Fished the Roche Harbor derby on Friday and Saturday with some reasonable success. Started the day with three native fish in the first forty five minutes of fishing 24, 17 and 19 pounds estimated and released them all before we netted our first clipped that came on a double. We released the first of the double, a 14ish pound native and then landed the eventual Derby winner a 16.6 pound clipped. All of this before 9:45am on day one, so we figured we didn't even have a placer for the derby and didn't head for the scales until 4:30 pm. We ended up bringing seven fish to the boat for the day all in the mid to upper teens, however only one clipped.

Day two we started the day with a nice 10 pound clipped, released a 17 mid day and ended the day with a double netting a 13.10 clipped and losing another mid teener at the back of the boat that who knows if is was marked. All in all a solid two days of fishing. Not to mention a little extra fuel money :)
