Whidbey Beach Fishing

Postby Ryan » Mon Aug 29, 2011 7:37 am

If you like fishing for salmon off the beach, or would like to try it out, now would be a good time. The Pinks are in thick along the west side of Whidbey. High tide was definitely best, but good numbers were also caught on the low. It's fascinating to watch these huge schools of pinks porpoise out of the water like dolphins as they swim by. Two of us had about dozen on at Bush Pt on Saturday high tide and landed half. Places a bit north seem just as good with a little more elbow room. All you need is a 2.5 pink buzz bomb and single barbless hook.
