i-Kam Video Sunglasses 1
Video is all the rage nowadays and for a charter captain like myself to grab video footage while I'm working means setting down the video camera once a fish is ready to land, which is also the time when the most excitement usually occurs during a long battle with a hot fish.
Ah…but there's a fix. Falling under the "what will they think of next" category, the new i-Kam video sunglasses from Hunter Specialties solve this problem by concealing a point-of-view camera within their new sunglasses. Who'd of thunk of it?
The i-Kam will record 4GB of video on an internal storage drive and they take a micro SD card for an additional 4GB of storage. Recording is easy, just tap a small button on top of the glasses to turn them on and another tap on a second button to start and stop recording. The internal battery lasts for up to 3 hours and video is formatted in easy to use .AVI format that is compatible with most internet video sites. Video is easily downloaded with a 2.0 USB drive and appears as "File X" when it's plugged into the computer. The i-Kam's come in three different colors, camo, black, and white and each set comes complete with 4 interchangable lenses for different lighting.
I grabbed some quick video with the glasses in early June of some king salmon action and also uploaded a sample video of a friend bass fishing in southern California. The guy talking to Steve in the second video is all the way on the other side of the pond. Here are links to both on the Outdoor Line Video page:
With the summer fishing season upon us and fall hunting just around the corner I recommend picking up a set of the i-Kams and giving them a go. They are available at Outdoor Emporium in Seattle and Sportco in Fife. Who knows, you might win an Endura handheld GPS in the Outdoor Line Video of the Month contest by submitting a video from your new video sunglasses.
