CCA Night with the Seattle Thunderbirds 2
Thanks to the Seattle Thunderbirds for hosting the first annual CCA night at the the Showare Center in Kent. Craig Howland, part owner of the T-Birds and CCA member, threw his support behind the event and saw it as an opportunity to build on something for the future. I was asked to speak on behalf of CCA and hold the fling-a-fish contest between the 1st and 2nd periods.
Sporting my new Tobeck 61 T-Birds Jersey and getting the crowd going between periods.
During the fling-a-fish contest, participants were supposed to fling a small rubber fish into a small pool to win cash and a gift certificate to Sportco. I quickly came under fire as some of the fish were way off target. Later I found out that the wayward fish were thrown by my co-host Rob Endsley and good friend Bear Holmes. You guys are now on my list by the way.
Trying to find the perpetrators in the crowd.
CCA had a booth right at the front of the arena and was able to sign up some new members, sell some t-shirts, and hold a raffle. Gary Loomis was also there meeting and greeting as many people as possible and spreading the CCA message to anyone who would listen. It was a great event and I would like to thank all of the CCA volunteers, the Seattle Thunderbirds, Craig Howland and Brian Irwin for putting on a great event. If you weren't there you missed a great contest and a great time, make sure you don't miss it next year. If you are not yet a member of CCA, go to www.ccapnw.org and sign up.
At hockey games, I thought that they threw octopus if they liked you. Throwing Nerf fish must then be interpreted as a shot at your manhood.... Just sayin...
Bear was throwing live rattlesnakes...seen it with my own two eyes!
