Team Outdoor Line Set to Compete in the Dash One! 2
Since I retired from 14 years in the NFL people always ask me how I fill that competitive void. I always respond with "Well, fishing of course". I have participated in various salmon derbies and until we started the show I always made sure that I hit a few of the stops on the Oregon Tuna Classic series. Well, nothing has fired me up and got those competitive juices flowing quite like what I consider to be the Super Bowl of Salmon Derbies. The new Dash One Invitational promises to be the most competitive and dare I say rewarding derby in years. While all of the other derbies do a great job and offer opportunity for everyone to compete for some great prizes (including a fully outfitted Stabi-Craft just for competing). It's about time the NW had a fishing competition on par with some of the great big money tournament series around the country.
A Hawg like this come July 1st just might land Team Outoor Line in the money.
While this might be a limited entry and not quite affordable for everyone I believe that this is a great opportunity to promote the sport we love with some good ole fashion competition. The other exciting thing is that if we do have a full field, a $25,000 donation for salmon enhancement shows that we, as sportsmen, put our money where our mouth is (just like all of the other derbies in the NWSalmon Derby Series).
I have my team in place, the trash talking has already begun and Team Outdoor Line will reign supreme. All others are fishing for second place.
Thanks Jay Fields for stepping up and getting this off the ground.
We'll be calling for all that knowledge you have from guiding in the San Juans all those years. Don't be talking to any other teams.
Wish I could be here for this one!
