Movement on the cormorant front

In my opinion and observations, cormornats are eating more than their share of Puget Sound salmon and more importantly, WILD STEELHEAD SMOLTS!

On the Columbia the situation has finally attracted the attention of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. If the USACE is successful, will even more Columbia River mouth cormorants come here?

Why does this state always want to try this and experiment with that instead of just opening a season on those birds like other states have. There is such a thing as a population becoming too big and needing to be thinned. Why is the easy and best decision so hard to come by for these folks?
