Help! I have booked a trip to the great northwest, and cannot change plans, but my guide just told me there are no steelhead in the Quinault, and that there won't be when I get there (Aug. 28). My sole purpose for coming out is to fish the same river for the same fish my father did 60 years ago. Any suggestions?

You might not be able to fish the same river but if it is steelhead your after then give Derek Anderson a call 206-849-2574.

There should be summer run steelhead in the quinault in that time-frame, though the guides probably aren't willing to look for them, for a similar experience on OP (Olympic Peninsula) the Hoh river is fishing fairly well for summer steelhead with a few monster kings in the mix, Bret or Larry at westsideguide.com can probably get you in a boat, would be a better fishing experience than the quinault guide *experience* too.
