When Will the Tuna Show?

For Oregon anglers, I"ve been hearing of reports of fish being caught in the southern part of the state but I haven't seen any pics yet to prove it. I do know that the commercials have had some catches way out but nothing to get too excited over. It appears we Washington anglers will have to wait a few more weeks. This SST from NOAA tells the story, the edges of the warm water haven't joined up yet creating the tuna highway. As soon as they do, the tuna won't be far behind. get your gear ready and the boat fueled up.

One thing working for us this year: The ocean is not doing the "washing machine" drill that it was last year!
When the warm water arrives...It will be go time!
Meanwhile, you'll just have to go salmon fishing  8-)

More reports coming in from southern Oregon, it won't be long now, heck there may already be some around.

You will have albi blood spilled somewhere on Washington's coast no later than July 14th is my guess.

The Quinault Canyon is pumping 58 degree water out of her right now per the Cape Elizabeth weather buoy, it's getting real close. :D
