I'm just getting into drift fishing. I want to know what line you're using brand, size, color. I saw Robbo's video and he mentioned using braid, is anyone using braid with good things to say? I got three reels to load up so just looking for good or bad reviews on line choice. Thanks alot.

Are you side drifting or drift fishing Duckhunter? Big difference between the two actually. If you're side drifting I'd run either 10 or 12 pound test high Vis Izorline. When I first started side drifting I ran 10 pound and it worked great but I burned thru a lot of lead. John Koenig talked me into bumping up to 12 pound hi-vis and we started getting a lot more of the hung up lead back.

Drift fishing with a level wind I'd probably run Trilene Hi-Impact in around 15 pound test. If you want to use the same reel for kings and cohos in the fall you could get away with 20 if you can pack enough line on your levelwind. Just depends on the size of the reel I guess.

Anway...there's a couple of thoughts. Happy to help if you have any other questions thumbup

You'll want to fish a hi-vis line that is fairly limber. Both Izor and Ande make good ones for side drifting. I use a lot of Berkley lines, but I haven't found one that works good on my side drifting reels yet so I just stick with either Izor or Ande. Get a bulk spool of 12 pound and you'll be set...just make sure you can pack enough onto your reels. Best of luck ;)
