Hey guys. I was looking at some old pictures in a drawer here at the shop and found something super cool and wanted to share it! A picture of "Mr. Old School" who ran the outdoor show so many years ago. Alot of us remember Bill Davis and his outdoor show as well as his many fishing articles. RIP brother.......
This is a pic Glen took like a hundred years ago at one of Robbo's favorite boat ramps.

Thanks Danny!
Bill Davis the original host of KIRO's Outdoor Line...kind of an icon in my book.
I was once a guest on his show... 20 years ago...
.. and dude,... That's a humpy.
Correction.. two humpies....

I loved Bill Davis. We had a copper wire in the top of a pine tree, to use as an antenna, so we could listen to Outdoor Line and the Sonics on the AM transistor at deer camp [eastern wa.]. Is that old school enough?

Thanks for sharing that pic, I wasn't around these parts when he did the show but I sure have heard plenty about him. Good to see a pic, nothing like I imagined.

Thanks for posting that Danny boy! Spent sooooo many days at that boat ramp back in the day. Seemed like so long ago
I can remember calling Bill Davis when I was around high school age to ask him some questions about steelhead fishing techniques and various rivers. He screened all his calls and after his voicemail picked up and I talked for a spell he actually picked up the phone. I started in with the questions and he was more than happy to answer any and all of them. I called him quite a bit and he always enjoyed chatting about fishing. He was an open book. That's kinda what inspired us to call our show the Outdoor Line...since that was the original Seattle outdoor radio show.
And Glen has just a little history in all this nonsense too

I listened to Bill on a regular basis and I occasionally called in as "Scott from Tacoma" and we talked Salmon fishing. I met him a few times at some of the area shows; he was always very kind, gracious, and humble. I find these qualities harder to find these days in people. What a class act for sure!
