Columbia River Springer Season Extension?

"...an encouraging remark from John North, a principal number cruncher for the Oregon department's Columbia River management team. I asked him Wednesday, given the slow catch thus far, whether Oregon and Washington will allow sportfishing to extend through the April 7-8 weekend instead of the currently scheduled sport closure April 6.
"Well, without saying we will, we're set up to look at it," he said, which in bio-speak amounts to a carefully crafted, significant step higher than "no." North cautioned, however, much depends upon this week's sport and commercial catches. "We could take out a lot of fish," he said.
Fortunately, there are plenty of fish left to take..."
The mainstream Columbia is slated to close April 6 keep your fingers crossed and we may get another week! Be prepared to get down there and GET YOUR SPRINGER ON!!!
