Humpback whales are an every day occurrence in SE Alaska. Here's just a few of the many shots I've been able to get with my Nikon D70. They turned out "just ok"...I'd like to upgrade to a D300 to get the ultimate breaching photos.

Those are looking pretty good from where I sit. When in Maui all we got were blow hole shots and a bit more.

Hey Rob...what is your whale doing in my whale's spot? I have almost a mirror image or yours but checked the markings and it isn't the same whale. Great shots! Love when they put on such a great show! Linda

Funny
I just got back from Maui. We saw more tail slaps and jumps from shore than on the whale watching boat. I did make the comment that we saw more action in AK. Bubble feeding whales and big breaches. To be fair it is late in the season in HI and we spend more time on the water in AK while fishing.
Great pictures Rob.
