Great White's Evinrude E-Tec Generation 2 Re-Rig!

I have to confess that I love rigging boats!
Combine that with the fact that the new Evinrude Generation 2 outboards boast an astounding 20% increase in fuel efficiency while using less oil and my love for rigging blossoms into blood lust!
Preparation for the 2015 Seattle Boat Show began in earnest for me this week as the gang at Bayside Marine is going to turn this:
Into THIS! All the rigging; shift, throttle, fuel, steering, electrical and NEMA 2000 cables fit neatly into a single rigging tube as seen on this demonstration boat.
The 2014 Evinrude ICON's are removed and we back her into Bayside Marine's installation bay
The Evinrude E-Tec Gen 2 engine out of the box and on a pallet...
Thanks to the overhead crane and four bolts, we're secure to the transom
Jeff LaLone of Bayside Marine and their Evinrude Ace Dave Petersen are all smiles with the very first E-Tec Gen 2 in the State of Washington successfully hanging on a transom!
As fast as the starboard engine is installed, the port engine takes it's place as well!
Up close, you can see the revolutionary difference in these engines. Custom colored side panels take the place of bulky, engine hoods and the top of the engines are easily accessed by a light-weight top panel
Next up will be the interior rigging and installation of the new touch screen LCD engine displays followed by the water test and performance evaluation! Stay tuned!!!
