Track system?

Has anyone had any experience using a track system for your rod holders? With my fathers new boat due soon I'm trying to decide what to do for rod holders. At first I was thinking about doing flush mounts but I don't really want to drill that big of holes in the gunwale and I feel like I would need an extension to elevate the rod. I thought using a track system might be less invasive and also gives the ability to move the rod holder up and down the gunwale. Welcoming any other suggestions. Thanks!

Hey P,
I've used -and loved- Cannon's track system.
Here's a link to the info:

Here's what the tracks look like...

Miller Marine Products makes a sliding rail system. Noticed it at the Sportsman show on a sled.
