The Nooksack and Skagit River elk herd has had it's ups and downs but now with wise management the herd is in great shape!

After applying for this Special Permit hunt over a span of several seasons, I was thrilled to finally get drawn and I spent the better part of September scouting for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

After a week of hard hunting I was rewarded with an opportunity to take this magnificent 6-point bull which WDFW Biologists estimated to weigh over 800lbs on the hoof!

Easily the largest rack of my hunting career, the mass of these magnificent antlers is simply amazing!

If you've been applying for a hunt of a lifetime without getting drawn, keep at it! You'll eventually get the draw! cheers
