My Montana Mule Deer

I just returned from an awesome weeklong do-it-yourself mule deer hunt with some good friends in Montana. I've got torn meniscus in both knees, so marching up and down the hills looking for a monster wasn't in the cards for me on this hunt.
Nonetheless I was still able to get within range of quite a few shooters and I ended up taking this nice 4x4 on the second day of the hunt. I was using a Savage .300 win mag with a Leupold VX-3L scope and Federal Fusion with a 165 grain Barnes X bullet. The buck dropped in it's tracks! After taking this heavy-bodied muley I got to spend the rest of the week helping friends spot and stalk their own deer. What a blast!
