The season is more than half way over at this point. There is still tons of ducks and geese around in the central part of the state. We have yet to have any sort of a hard freeze. Most water is still open which seems to be keeping the birds in the area with plenty of feed in the fields left for them to graze. The lack of any real cold or stormy weather has the birds a little stale however. There doesn't seem to be any real urgency to feed which can make decoying tough. Simplifying your set up seems to be the best way to get wary birds in close. Smaller spreads, further away from your blinds with simple honks and clucks while calling has been the recipe for success as of late.
