Found a nice break in the weather to run out in area 7 to soak the gear for a few hours.
Nothing huge, but two quality hatchery fish will work!
QCove flasher and Silver Horde spoon.

I'm curious where you were. You don't have to give exact location, but near which island and maybe which side.
Thx.
Dan

Hey Dan,
Sure thing, I have no secrets!
The day we got out the tides were VERY small so we were able to fish Obstruction without tangeling gear.
Area 7 has been treating us well this year.
The ratio of keepers/hatchery VS wild has been in our favor!

Thanks. I have been learing Thatcher Pass, Lopez Flats, Tide Point & Eagle Bluff. I recently fished Guemas Channel (just east of the ferry landing) for the first time; but have been wanting to try Obstruction Pass. I understand the bottom is very uneven and it is easy to loose a downrigger ball on the west end of the troll. Any suggestions?

You need to make sure that you learn the southend of Lopez Flats as well as Davis bay on the north end they are the most productive parts of that whole area. Be sure to take your time and realy learn to drag "MEAT".

I have also been working on Lopez Flats, but haven't tried Davis Bay out yet.
Any recommendations on when to fish it (which tide).
Thanks for the info.

I was looking at some charts and the only Davis Bay I can find is on the SW side of Lopez Island.
Is that the area you are taling about, if so I got confused by the up north reference.
Thanks.
