Skagit River

My good friend Patrick and I fished the upper Skag yesterday. The river went on the drop and we beat up a section of froggy water with bobber/roe and bobber/jig. The banks are ripe with humpy carcass and the pinks that are still mucking around look like ghost fish, which is fitting for Holloween. There was some bear sign on the bank but we were not lucky enough to see any. We ended up getting two small hen Coho, both caught on the cured roe. One local said he is doing well with Vibrax spinners and it looked like the guides up there were side drifting. Whatever your flavor of technique should do the trick in the upper river for the next several weeks. G
