Sorry this is a late post, I've been kinda busy lately!
Launched out of Edmonds on Sunday at 6:30am. The line at the sling wasn't as bad as I was expecting, probably because of the fog? I wanted to try and target Chinook (this would be my last chance for this selective season), so we ran out to Jeff Head. The fog was thick, but not as bad as it looked up past Kingston and down at Silshole. It seemed like perfect conditions out, calm water, birds and porpises everywhere, marked lots of both bait balls and fish. We threw a little bit of everything at them, using the whole water column. Saw some real nice tide rips, so we trolled in-out-and around them hoping to get a silver or two. Nada. Fished there for about 3 hours and decided to try Richmond Beach and troll North from there. Trolled just past the oil docks with still nothing, so decided to go up towards Browns Bay just to get a fish in the boat. The fog was pretty bad by then and we started trolling North figuring that we would turn around when we started running into the floatilla. I was happy to se that we were the only ones here, we didn't run into for the rest of the day, you could see them all further up North! We got the lines down at 11:30 am and within 2 minutes, we had a double. Fishing was pretty consistent until we pulled up lines at 2:00 pm. We ended up with 6 Pinks (5-7lbs), released two that were around 2-3lbs, and long-line released about 4. Not the most productive day on the water fish-wise, I'm always happy just to get the boat out!
