Skagit River

I went to Baker Lake with a couple of friends yesterday to try for a few more Sockeye. There were a few boats, and saw some fish being caught. I missed one good bite. About 10 am we left and headed down to Lyman for an early lunch, then on to the Skagit River. We launched at the Gardner street ramp and found one of our favorite Humpy holes. Within a little while we had three fish in the boat, and decided to call it a day due to the early start and having one of my friends dad's (81) with us. The Pink and Silver action should only get better and better from here on out on the Skagit. Here are a few pictures.

Looks like a good morning of fishing there Dan and even better to see your buddies 81 year old dad out there. That trumps the fish any day. What's the blue stuff in the sky

I was a great day, and I even handed the rod off so he could play/land a fish. The blue sky was kind of hard to see cause there was this really bright thing in the sky that was shining in my eyes.

Yesterday was another great day on the Skagit River.
Got 7 between two guys. We were using large wicked willies from the boat.
The guys on the bank were doing well using wing bobbers and sand shrimp.
Fileted them and cooked some on the grill with a little Tony Cacherie's Creol seasoning.
Very tasty...

Nice looking pinkies you got there. I love that creol on my salmon as well, that's the way the wife always wants it cooked.

Another nice day on the Skagit. Large pink Wicked Willie's seem to be the thing...
Here is another pic. Also, while filleting the fish I had 3 that had a very light flesh.
Earlier this year there was quite a discssion on white chinook.
Has anyone every heard of the same thing on Pink Salmon?
