We ventured to the west side of the San Jauns on Saturday and found a load of pinks. We were on a camping trip with a little fishing sprinkled in. We fished 4 hours at eagle point and landed between 8 and 10 pink while loosing at least that many more. We did fish thatcher pass Saturday afternoon and landed a small hatchery Chinook. I spoke with the fish checker in Anacortes and he noted that he checked 25 boats Saturday with only 3 kings coming in. His intel was that the King fishing on the inside has slowed considerably and the West side of the San Juans was still producing when you could get through the pinks.

That's rough stuff right now in the Islands!
Getting "through the pinks" to catch a chinook will become the challenge in Puget Sound very soon!
