The Old Man & The "C" Closure

Went back out to LaPush with my buddy Ted on the BlackVelvet for the second opener.

Thursday was off the hook, released 23 halibut and kept 2 twins @ 43 1/2" each(approx. 41 pounds), plus 4 really nice lings.

Friday was recovery day, relax and get ready for another offshore slayfest.

Goatram showed up late Friday evening just in time for RollTheBones to host us all for a fantastic dinner down on the dock, "Center Cut" style.

Saturday was flat calm 30 miles out, like a sheet of ice, drift was .02, which sucks because you can't cover any ground, so fishing was a little slower for me and Ted, But not the "old man & the "C", he reeled in one after another, lings, halis, and more lings and halis. That "old man" really knows his stuff, just glad I'm not that old !!!

Thanks again to the Quileute marina, harbourmaster Billy, and all their staff for rolling out the red carpet. Billy runs a tight ship and works 17 hours a days to keep on top of everything. LaPush is now right up by the top of the list on my destination chart.

Great job, sounds like a fun little trip. That water looks great in that last pic, maybe too slow for your drift but plenty of that when the tuna show up will be just fine.

Thanks bro. Yeah i had to go buy chest freezer. Good times.

There suppose to open it back up the 2nd & 4th. So you might want to get a hold of Billy Brux the Quileute Harbormaster 360-374-5392

And there's a really nice camp site near by. Ocean side or somethin like that.

Yeah i felt great this last week. Just took some ginger pills and that was enough.

The week before on the opener when i got back(the sick day). that afternoon at the BD party for Ken Pinnell i took one of the patches my buddy gave me. Scopolamine Transdermal.
It worked but, gave very bad dry mouth and blurry vision.

[quote]Yeah i cant wait for some smooth water tuna with my buddy Ken. This will be my first year outta Westport for tuna.[quote]

It's starting to be that time of year where all I think about is tuna. Hopefully we won't be blown off the entire month of July like last year.
