Buoy 10 Opener!

Well, technically it doesn't open until Monday, August first, but, the Columbia River is open for chinook above the Astoria-Megler Bridge right now!

Eric Linde of LindeSportfishing.com took advantage of that fact by putting this dandy in the boat yesterday morning!

To be as kind as possible, let's just say that the opener at Buoy 10 was S L O W...

Yes, I know, I should have stayed in my beloved Marine Area 9 but after a season of watching the downrigger wire for bites, let's just say I wanted to see a STRIKE!!!

Have you ever caught a chinook with three strikes against it? Here is a Hatchery, Tule, Jack!

With smokin' hot action just north of in Westport, Long Beach and Buoy 10, things will be picking up in the lower Columbia soon!!!
