The ocean opened 1 July and Salt Patrol fished Westport on the 4th Weekend with Jerry Henderson. We had good action in 260ft of water west of the harbor mouth fishing the downriggers at 90-120ft. Most of our fish came on a Fish Flash pulling a herring cured in Pro Cure Bait-N- Brine Compete. We changed out to larger size Mustad hooks in the 5/0-6/0 size and had better hook up rates. It was not hot fishing overall but we were able to limit each day with fish from 14-22lbs, you just need to put in your time.
