Cowlitz Steely

Cowlitz fishing, got two early morning from 7 to 9, then it seemed to dropped off. Leader question, on low water condition what is the best length? I kept mine around 24 to 30 inch, while my buddies kept theirs around 30 to 36 inch. My thought was keep it as close as the bottom as possible, but I got one fish first then two drifts later my buddy got one. Besides the leader length the only difference was he was using eggs while I stayed with puff ball. This is the only second time I have drift fished. Normally I'm a plunking guy=from the banks down by castle rock.

You might stretch it out a bit and downsize your puffball. There's always a chance you caught all the biters also...only so many biters around right now. Overall you guys did great catching a couple ;)

Thanks! yeah we used size 4 hooks and pretty small buff ball, (I was the only one using light orange color) as my friend thought maybe a small presentation would be better in low water, but then I teased him about his Small theory! rofl rofl
