Omak Lake Lahontan Cutthroat Trout

This is by far the earliest we've fished Omak Lake. This amazing winter weather we've been having has made fishing a little more bearable this time of year. The lake could not have been more perfect. Calm and mid 50's by afternoon.
We spent 1.5 days working both ends of the lake. Fishing was quite productive with a variety of different spoons, paddle tails and stick baits. Each of us landing a couple dozen fish per day. Bigger lures usually produced bigger fish. Some of the largest were in the 23 to 24" size.
These Lohontan Cutthroat Trout are broodstock from the famous Pyramid Lake. The state record fish of 19 lbs was caught from this lake. We've been trying to seek those big boys out. The largest fish I've seen was my buddy Brian who was visiting from VA last year landed one over 30".
