After this little breeze blows through, this weekend is going to lay down flat and foggy out on the Sound.

Judging by the Bayside Marine Derby on November 1&2, there are plenty of winter chinook available and on the snap!

Here's the lowdown on last weekend's event: thumbup

Keep in mind that crabbing is open 7 days a week through year's end as well! rockon

The winter blackmouth Gods showed benevolence on me yesterday out at Possession. The water out there is not as clear due to the rains and the river sediment in it. I figure that UV would work better with these conditions. I had the gear at 139 FT when this 24" clipped Chinook hit the Coyote Spoon. Once back at the house I opened it up and found this 6"+ herring in the stomach!!

That's a dandy and a very interesting size of herring in his gullet! thumbup

Heck, you could fish plugs right now with feed that size around!

Nice work and thanks for the report! cheers

Winter Blackmouth has been very good this year. We were out a week ago Friday and caught many Native Blackmouth and undersize. Then the downrigger went off and buried and this was at the end of the line.

This was a first for me. I have caught Lingers but not Halibut. Lets hope they bite in May.
