Crabs a walking - it must be summer!

Launched out of Everett (along with much of Snohomish County) and missed the regulation change. Arrived at the target location at 7 and lots of gear all ready deployed. Moved to a secondary spot, found an area without too many pots. After a 45 minute soak with through the gear the first time and had our limits (2 fishers). All nice hard crabs (6 1/2 to more than 7 inches) with the majority having barnacles!

In the river on the way back to the boat launch met 32 more boats heading out. At 9 the parking lot was nearly full and another 20 so trailers parked in the grass. Some boats leaving with limits but more getting ready to launch.

Happy 4th to all and hope everyone has fresh sea food on the menu!

I have to agree with you Smalma!
The crab opener was excellent despite the pressure.
I've never seen that amount of crab gear in the water, that many folks doin' it and I think it's great!! thumbup

Good crabbing continues in Marine Areas 8-1, 8-2 & 9 with limits and large crab spicing up the catch!

After Saturday morning's Outdoor Line broadcast, we were joined by Brock Huard for a little crabbing and those "little" crab were pretty big!

Here's hoping that the solid crabbing keeps going! cheers
