Made it down to the big river yesterday, and fished the I-5 bridge region. We saw a lot of boats, but not too many nets. It was one here, one there throughout the day.
We talked to two guide boats that had 2 fish each, and there was one boat we knew of that got 3. And that happened to be ... our boat.


This of course lines up with yesterday's Outdoor Report, that boats are hooking 1-3 fish per day right now. It seems the big push of fish is yet to hit, but it feels like that could happen at any time. Your timing later this week might be perfect, Tom.

It was a good day on the water, and it's hard to beat fresh springer for dinner.

I stopped by a friends house today just in time to chow on some springer belly's that were just coming out of the smoker. OMFG dude!!!!!!

What kind of gloves are you wearing Chef P?

I need some gloves for sent control that add some warmth.......

They are utility gloves made by Wells Lamont. They're not super warm, but they keep some heat in while allowing you to keep a lot of dexterity. They have a nice "grippiness" to them that comes in handy ...so to speak. Plus they clean up easily, and when you do trash a pair, at $13 for 6 pairs, it's not the end of the world.
