Despite higher water conditions the fishing was actually fairly decent on the Cowlitz River for Bucket and I yesterday. Our good buddy Stam was kind enough to send Jim "Bucket" Heins and I along on a trip with Bill Myer from Angler's Guide Service while he stayed home and slaved away at his auto body shop, Enumclaw Auto Rebuild. Thank you again for the great trip Stam...much appreciated ;)

We launched at the crack of 8:00 a.m. and after drifting for a while Jim hooked up on a nice king. Here's Jim saying "Thank You Stam!"

Guides day off...sort of. Shortly thereafter Bill layed into another nice king that also had to go back. Too many fins on this one also thumbup

While I was yapping on my phone about some boat deal in Alaska these guys were busy stroking fish. Here's a silver/king double, both of which were released thumbup

Just before we headed for the launch Bill hooked into this fat clipped silver that I didn't waste any time netting. This blinger was destined for a bbq in Poulsbo :D

Happy to see these guys stroking fishing and laughing it up yesterday. I managed to hook up on one fish in the morning and break it off at the boat. Oh well ;)
Thanks again for sending us fishing yesterday Stam. We're not sure what we did to deserve such a kind gesture, but we'll take it buddy thumbup thumbup

Nice work!
It's sure cool to hook up some big fish on those light rods.
Gotta love the Cowlitz in September...you never know what you're gonna catch next
