Tony Floor of the Northwest Marine Trade Association submits this report:
As many of you have experienced fishing along the kelp beds at Skagway Rock and in the bay, immediately south of Cape Flattery, Dan Tatum, Discovery Bay and I fished this special king salmon spot Sunday through Tuesday morning.
We put 9 (100% marked) of these pigs in the boat, as it was as good as my memory can serve up from our trips in the late 70's and early 80's. The fleet consisted of 7 boats suggesting Skagway Bay is a forgotten frontier. Dan Tatum (Pictured below) fished the area for a total of 9 days during the last two weeks and boated 25 kings, all #18 to #26. Mercy!
