7 for 7 Bass Report

Posted: Thu May 02, 2013 8:58 amI was the lucky guy that drove 7 hours yesterday for 7 total hours of fishing time on Moses Lake and Potholes Reservoir. The plan was to fish yesterday afternoon, stay the night, and then get the morning bite today with Outdoor Line bass guru Nick Berto. Unfortunately I got the call from my wife last night that our little girl wasn't fairing so well...fever, cough, not eating, etc.. At 7:30 last night we put Nick's rocket ship Skeeter bass boat back on the trailer and I blazed back home to take care of the family. Duty calls

At least I got to fish for a few hours and lose a bunch of Nick's gear though. I'm sure he's so anxious to have me back

The bass were a little spooky, but Nick did get this smallmouth rainbow trout to chomp down on a whacky rigged rubber thingy on a drop shot

"Young Gun" Berto stroked this fat, fat smallie on a jerk bait just before we had to pull the plug and haul ass for the launch

The smallies were moving up into the shallows last night and I'm sure Nick roped some nice fish this morning. Nothing like rolling around those lakes in a boat that tops out at 74 mph. Hope to get back out there again with him sometime soon. Thanks again for the good time Nick
