Wounded Veterans Fishing Program

Danny Gabriel and crew of Wounded Veterans Fishing Program took out some of our local warriors and their family members to Riffe Lake for a day of kokanee fishing. The trip was fully guided with each participant getting their own fishing rod. The weather cooperated with calm conditions and the occasional rain shower. While not red-hot, catching conditions were well worth the effort put in.
The Outdoor Line helped sponsor the event with t-shirts and on-ground support.
Likewise, Danny and some of these warriors will be attending our Salmon for Soldiers event this coming August 10th!

I hope the guys enjoyed the shirts Randy and glad the weather was somewhat calm for the vets today. Thanks to you and Penny for making the trip down that way to hang with the boys...pretty darn cool buddy thumbup

Sounds like the fishing has cooled off quite a bit on Riffe Lake. Any thoughts on that :?:

Hey Robbo.....If I am not mistaken, the average water temp for Riffe Lake around this time of year is 40 to 42 degrees so that didn't seem to be a factor. With the front that came over them, I believe the fish pushed just a bit deeper for the day. The pressure change does make a difference. It would have been easy to skip right over the top of them.

I would absolutely love to. I did speak to Robbo about getting the two Veterans Center Reps out for a test fish prior to the event. I think anytime works for them...........Let me know if there is anything you need me to do for you the day prior to the event. If you need me to save you dock space early morning of the event for Big Red, I can do that for you. We have all of Guest Dock A (1000') in the North Yacht Basin reserved for the event. There are plenty of boats signing up that will be coming in the day before. I think the largest boat is 49'. Holy Cow!
All of us would like to thank you and Robbo at The Outdoor Line for hosting this awesome event!
