A fun day on the Creek!

We launched late and took the slow approach! I believe its a good thing to play cleanup and be the last down the river. One major advantage to launching late during this cold weather is by letting the sun up on the water it slightly increases the temp which can make a difference on how far that Chrome Steelie will move for a bait.
The fish today were really nice and really hot! Keep your colors subtle and make the offerings small. The water is super clear so lighten it up and give the most natural presentation possible. Another tip is try and keep your boat off of the fish! Be safe out there

Tight lines,
Derek Anderson

Tom,
You guys are welcome to jump in anytime! There are some really nice quality fish to be had if you work hard. The first fish was 36.75" in length which is a pretty nice hatchery fish these days. The fish sure are fun and really pull hard when you drive that hook home. We will be back at it again on Monday for the search for MR BIG!
I will see you guys at the show next week. I am going to be spending a couple of days at the show working for Lavro Boats and Dick Nite Spoons.

Nice job Derek, even with the pressure you are getting it done. That first fish didn't take you too long to find in that first stretch. Always feels good to fish behind guys and pick up the fish, missed during the cold morning boat race...hehe.
That second fish come out of that deep slot along the bank on a plug?? They sure like to hang in the deep now with the level and clarity. Fishing is still pretty good, but I'll take some rain to give those streams another bump...
Hope to see ya at the Puyallup show...

Duckdog,

Sounds great! I will be working the Dick Nite booth all day Friday and Lavro Boats on Saturday. I look forward to meeting you and swapping fish stories!
It looks like we got the rain that we have needed. We should have some awesome fishing over the next few weeks, so it time to get out in search of MR. BIG!
