In todays mail I recieve the info from a code wire tag that was collected from a coho I caught off the shipwreck last September.

Thought folks might find the results interesting. It was released the spring of 2011 at the George Adams hatchery. That hatchery is located on the Skokomish river, south Hood Canal. I was surprised that it was that far afield that late in the season. Salmon certianly do move about in their migrations and feeding efforts.

What a spectacular coho season it was, actually is, as of last weekend still catching limits in a few select areas.
One of the four coho we caught off Shilshole at the end of August was a wild indicator fish out of Big Beef Creek on Hood Canal. That same fish had two clipped coho smolts in its stomach along with a herring and some euphausids. Wish we would have aggressive, feeding coho like we had this year in the inner sound every year.
