We managed to get out today for a little Edmonds Coho Derby scouting today and let's just say we didn't have to go far from Edmonds to find 'em!

Luhr Jensen's Flash Fly took "most" and "biggest" honors today! Re-rigged with a stack bead, 2/0 hooks and trimmed to a 3" length this chartruse "conehead" was money today!

It's been a dodger drill for us this silver season. You just can't beat the full circle "swoop" of an LJ Dodger to get the cohos to snap! Shorten your leaders to 24" and you'll score!

It's not a humpy year but these coho are showing up in "humpy-esque" numbers!
Question: When was the last time that WDFW fish checks exceeded 1 fish per angler in Sekiu, Shilshole Bay and Everett?
Answer: Last week!!!! thumbup

I'm getting up close to 3 kts with the Les Davis/Luhr Jensen dodgers, trying to achieve a full rotation.
Shorten your leaders and hold on!

While the bait boy was in school, where he belongs! I was fishing Port Angeles with 3 buddies. Area 6 is hatchery only. In less than 2 days of fishing we released around 30 native fish including a near 17 pound bruiser. We managed to scratch our limit of hatchery fish, after tons of releases. We averaged 7 wild fish for every hatchery fish. 100% herring, cut plug, set to 37 feet deep. We burned thru 11 packages of herring. It's going to be an amazing September for the silvers! Get back to school bait boy! I'm going mule deer hunting for my 30" buck.

That sounds like an epic outing!
Bait boy... I have felt -and do feel- your pain...
An 11 pounder won five grand in the Edmonds Coho Derby and a record was set with over 600 coho weighed in!
I'm running out of superlatives to describe this tremendous run of coho!
