Wrangell Wrap up!

Following a Big Rob E post is pretty tough timing and my report will seem "bland" in comparison, but here it goes! I really enjoy the opportunity to post here, but just like Rob mentioned, during the summer season it is almost impossible to find the time to do a decent report. So, I am anxious to post more season wrap up reports with photos and rigs that worked for me in the Wrangell area.
I had a good King season once things kicked into gear. Mid to late June was the best for me and the District 8 bag limits were filled in short order. I fished a 6" Magnum Blue Glow Grand Slam Bucktail fly with a herring strip on a 29" leader behind a blue Hot Spot. This was an incredible combo that caught all my kings except for one!
Silvers are still working their way to Wrangell and what fish we were able to locate seemed to be in "pockets" not schools by any means. There was a nice jag of Neck Lake Silvers here in late July that were loads of fun however, cookie cutter in size averaging around 6 to 8 pounds. The wild fall Silvers that I was anxious to get on were a little late, but what we did hook up were very nice fish. Silvers over 10 pounds were not uncommon at all and we had some in the 15 to 18 pound range. The best populations I found were in the Clarence Strait area west of Wrangell.
As I get geared up for fall, I will continue to post more reports from Wrangell. Thanks for reading
