Edmonds Coho

My son Darius and I fished the edmonds area this morning and had our limits of coho by 6:45am. the bite is pretty hot right now, better than I have seen it in quite a while. We also did well last night

The early arrival of the coho is amazing!
The sport catch is just awesome right now and you just have to wonder how the season will play out!

Picked up a really nice 10 1/2 # silver on Monday, hatchery male with a hooknose and empty stomach. I had just put my gear in the water and was down about 20' when it hit, really took me by surprise. Hooked another one shortly after that, but lost it about 10' from the boat, it looked and felt like it was close to the same size as the one I landed. Wish I could have hung around but I only had about an hour to fish.

The only way I can describe it:
Simply "stupid" coho action in Marine Area 9 right now...

The Kent family; Louden, Lance and Logan were thrilled with their quick limit of coho this morning! Bailey the bad dog was not as impressed... ;)

No kidding... thru the jetty at 5:30 both of us limited by 7:30. 4 for 8 not big but really feisty. I had one that must have jumped 10 times... the final one he jumped right into the kicker then into the net. Good times. These are all 5 or 6 pounders, kinda cookie cutter and some wild some hatchery. I wonder if this is a run to a specific river, and which one. Mister fish biologist... any idea?

STUPID is right Nelly. It's been a long time since I have seen so many happy anglers. I really hope this keeps up for awhile. The bigger fish are showing, we got one 11 lb today and the rest were 6-8.

Just when you think you've got 'em figgered out....

Tougher fishing today but Port of Everett friends Eric and Vinnie managed their limit and one coho short of a boat limit!
