Buoy 10...It's go time!

Right after we got off air on Saturday Duane, his father Marty and I spun the wheels of truck and trailer down to Chinook, Washington. launched the boat and yes,... it's Buoy ten time!

We ran up above the Astoria-Megler Bridge and it was "FISH ON" almost immediately! Duane's father lost a nice one right off the bat.

We got our gear back down and I got lucky enough to have this chunky chinook grab my cut plug!

The next day we had to work for our fish but this dandy in the mid 20's brightened our day!

Duane's father Marty nailed this chrome hen for our limit!

I have a nice photo of mine; however it's on my camera. Yes in true travel fashion, I forgot my down-load cord, so it will need to wait. That wouldn't be the case if you had a picture on your camera, like we did for all the other fish. Oh well, maybe next time... Then again, there is always the possibility it may happen with my fish over the next two days... We'll see... :D

A bit tougher time today for us today but we're not about to complain!

This 35 pound chrome buck started the day and put on a serious battle under the boat

Since I got flak for not getting a fish pic of Duane yesterday, here's a shot of Mr. Inglin himself!

Nice Tyee Nelly!!
You got that 30lb skunk of your back for the year! clap
Took the advice you gave me Saturday am, and fished Westport Sat/Sun. while we didn't break 30lbs. we did take 2 chinook over 20lbs, with mixed bag limits for 3guys both days, with 30 nice Dungy's, and a couple keeper lings off the submerged jetty, to make for a succesful trip.
Weird year out there this year, as fish and fishermen are scattered from 25ft of water off the beach, out to 300+ ft. of water. ( I got a chinook, and a hatchery Coho in less than 100 ft. of water on Saturday) Sunday was a big Chinook in 30ft of water, then out to 40 fathoms for one of those "stupid" Coho bites, where it didn't matter what you fished, or how deep. ( I took my hatchery Coho 30 seconds after the boat stoppped, on a herring rig that wasn't even attached to the downrigger ball yet!!) Saw the attack/strike through the polarized shades, and set the hook, thought I was sight fishing for steelhead in February!! I still think the bruisers are just sliding down to this area now, based on the smallish fish from Puget Sound this year so far, and the increase in Tyee+ fish starting to be caught by our "friends" to the NOrth.... rockon

Good god look at that 35 lb pig drool , I know your boat was decked out but a thermos holder just over Duanne's shoulder is to much.
Let me know when you up date the boat which sounds like its coming soon.

I would love to take you down there JJ but... It looks like a quota closure is on the horizon.
Lets make a plan and put it on the calendar for August 2013!
