Team Cut Plug hit waters a few miles west of Port Angeles Sunday and Monday. With 3 rods working hard we managed to ice 10 hatchery kings upto 16 lbs. In 2 days of fishing we released another 8 legal size natives, all clean releases. Biggest native was pushing 20 lbs, hit the cut plug herring, out back on 10 oz's of lead. Most fish were caught with the bottom track feature enabled with a flasher and coyote spoon. Darn good fishing. Got our limit today by 9:30 am. Big water on Sunday!

Was an early bite, starting at 4:45 am, multiple hook-ups before 5 am, both days.

Lots of fish for the smoker! cheers

Man, I must have been tired last night! It was a Coho killer not a coyote spoon. Most of the bait looked like candlefish.

Nelly, with such a strong opener n Area 6, I'm thinking area 9's opener has a great chance of holding a lot of fish in a couple of weeks. We saw a good number of fish caught. I would like to think my team was just amazingly deceptive and tricked a few fish but I think there was a really good number of kings in the Straits already.

Are 9 is holding some nice kings for us boyz. Trust me.. Went out this morning and Sunday hooked into a few. Area 10 has been great for resident coho also if you're into that. Dodger and white needle squid with a sliver of herring down 35-65 feet has been great for us.

Sounded like a smoking good time dude, and probably the right call on where to go  ...that weather report Sunday was crazy...I thought I read 3ft-4ft out on the Straits.

I completely agree 'plug.
From what I've been hearing, it's pretty solid.
I've got a score to settle in the San Juans next week but after that, I'm going to take advantage of our increased opportunity in A9 to do a little pre-opener scouting! spy
