Double header in area 8 & 9

The best bait that I have ever found for lingcod is live Sandab. That was the key to my dad and I's success on Friday. With three solid hookups only one linger was boated. That was pretty good for the possession bar in about 45 feet of water. It took awhile to find the sand dabs off of the old Mukelteo oil dock. We timed the tide just right at the slack. Ended up being about a 35 inch big headed bruiser. On Saturday, my Dad, his friend Iom and I went out to Camano Head and dropped off our shrimp pots. We let them soak for about 2 1/2 hours and pulled them up to find an average of about 50 shrimp per pull and ended up with 140 for the boat. Ended up being a great couple days of Puget sound fishing. :D :D :D

Hard to beat the PNW this time of year for good "eats".

After quick limits of spot prawns yesterday and stowing the gear, buddy and I had a snack of smoked Columbia springer and crackers with an adult beverage. After which we threw jigs for a couple hours for a nice ling apiece.

A few minutes ago as I walked in from the garden with fresh rhubard for a pie I turned off the smoker with the week's catch of kokanee . The pie will be the final course of a pretty decent PNW feast of grilled fresh prawns (with garlic butter please), ling (dredged in flour, egg wash and panko cooked in olive oil) "dirty rice", steamed asparagus, and fresh bread baked with the pie. Only tough part of the meal is deciding whether to have a brew or glass of a nice ressling!

Geez Smalma...you throw up a menu like that with no invite for dinner? You might get some uninvited guests
