The spring chinook fishery on the Columbia River is open until Sunday, April 22.

Liz Hamilton of the NSIA provided the following information:
"A Joint State hearing was held today to review the ongoing Lower Columbia River recreational fishery.
The States took no action, and upheld the current regulations, which continues the fishery through Sunday April 22.
The States will wait until a run size update is available before considering additional angling opportunity in the area downstream of Bonneville Dam. A run size update will not be available until early to mid May.
A Joint State hearing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday April 30 to review the ongoing sport fishery upstream of Bonneville Dam.

We had a better day getting bit today... but wow!... did we have trouble hooking them!

It took us seven chances today to put two chinook in the box! Rich Mercado hoists the husky pair of springers...
